Muckhart Nature Park's Pond

The weather is cold and windy. The water is colder and moving faster and our fingers are numb! the bridge has changed colour. The water is a lot higher and you can feel the dampness in the grass under foot. It was raining when we got here but it has dried up now. The water temperature is 5 degrees and the air is 4 degrees. The water is rippling because the wind is pushing it. The cold air nips your nose and the conditions this month are quite miserable. The mini-waterfall is fast flowing leading into the pond. We can smell smoke from people's chimneys, fresh air and sheep dung. The trees are completely bare apart from some red berries.

It is much colder and wetter than before although it is a very bright day. I can smell the fresh air but there is a damp feel to it now. The colour of the leaves has changed and the mini-waterfall has dried up. The grass is a lot darker than before. The water is 3cm shallower than the last time

I can smell fresh air and damp grass. The water level has risen since last month - there are more leaves fallen and the grass is marshy. The water seems clearer than last month. Water depth from end of the pier was 98cm and temperature at same spot was 8 degrees celsius.

We have taken photographs of the Muckhart nature pond from various different angles. While we were at the pond we thought about our senses. We could hear birds chattering in the wind, and cars in the distance. We could feel the long grass on our legs and it was quite cold. We could see trees and the church in the distance. We could smell the dampness of the ground. In our photos the sky and trees are reflected in the water. We are wondering if and when the water will turn to ice and what the water will look like if rain is hitting it.
